Lethabo le Khutso (NPC) was originally registered as a Section 21 Company in 2002 (non-profit company). The facility had a constitution and was managed by a board of directors, with financial statements audited by chartered accountants.
However, in 2013 the decision was taken by the board to replace the constitution with a Memorandum of Incorporation (MOI). Hence, LLK is currently managed by the board of directors, with audited financials, in terms of the Memorandum of Incorporation.
The company is registered with the Department of Social Development, as well as the Department of Health, and is partly subsidised by both these government departments.
LLK owns two residential facilities in Rietondale, where housing and care are provided to 16 adults living with Autism.
The residents in each facility are cared for by two rotation teams, each consisting of a housemother and two assistants. We are proud of our LLK residential staff who have developed into a highly experienced group of primary caregivers that love our residents like their own children. The average employment period thus far amongst our residential staff is ten years, making them uniquely skilled in the field of practical Autism care.
LLK has not only become a home-away-from-home for our residents living with Autism, but also a loving family taking care of each other!
